WHY PILATES?
Pilates, known as Contrology, isn’t just a workout-it’s a mindset, lifestyle and way of life. It teaches us how to live, listen to our body and maintain peak health and physical fitness. It helps us live our best, healthiest and most active life.
Each program is thoughtfully designed for the individual and may vary from session to session based on fitness goals, sport-specific demands, recovery needs, and the body’s feedback. One key goal is to create a healthy balance between mobility and strength to help reduce chronic pain and prevent injury.
Are you tired of dealing with chronic pain, poor posture, or ongoing fatigue? A consistent movement program that emphasizes proper body mechanics and alignment is essential for feeling better and maximizing performance.
A well-rounded, functional exercise program that integrates strength, stability, mobility, and flexibility, while reinforcing proper alignment and neuromuscular patterns, allows us to move with greater ease, feel stronger, and fully participate in life.

What is Pilates?
Joseph Pilates created a type of movement called Contrology, which is a challenging low impact exercise method that balances strength with mobility, aligns the body, fine-tunes movement patterns, and strengthens the deeper muscles of the core. Pilates aligns your entire body’s overall structure and supports its joints. What appears to look simple can be deceptively challenging and incredibly effective when done correctly with proper form.
Pilates is a low impact exercise that creates optimal strength through muscle balance and fine-tuning neuromuscular patterns.
The optimal strength gained from a consistent Pilates practice is nonrigid, balancing strength with mobility and flexibility. It helps you move and breathe through your daily activities with more freedom and power and less pain. Flexibility is the amount of passive stretch in a muscle. Mobility is the range of motion at a joint. Good mobility requires flexibility, but also strength. You need a balance of strength and flexibility to optimize mobility. Below are just a few benefits of regular Pilates practice….
